New Ink Pitt--Reversing the Woe

New Ink Pitt--Misfortune of Doom pt. 2 of 6:  “Reversing the Woe”

"Bah! This makes no sense!"  Trodemus grasped the Book of Riches tightly.  "I did not receive the dough the book mentions!  Belinda did!  Why is it that I have been cursed with the fear of financial woe?!?"  Trodemus looked over to Belinda for an explanation.  Belinda shrugged her shoulders, but then realized something.

"Well...I did use some of the money to redecorate." Belinda smiled shamefully.
"What?" Trodemus frowned.
"Yeah you've seen the upstairs bathroom.  Those black shower curtains were so drab!  The red ones are much better!"
Trodemus sighed.  "Belinda..."
"Troddie, I didn't know!  I guess you did benefit from the dough, though!"

Trodemus stared into the Book of Riches once more, and swatted at the ghosts that flew out of it.  He thought for a moment, and came up with an idea.

"Well, if this curse was brought upon me by the words of this book, then perhaps the words of this book can reverse the woe!  There must be something in here to counter it!"

Trodemus searched the book frantically, and finally found an index in the back.  He looked under the topic, "financial woe, undoing."  Belinda mentioned that she had read the entire book before, but had not seen any index.  Trodemus quickly turned to the page and found a whole paragraph on how to reverse the fear of financial woe.  The paragraph stated that the best way to reverse it was to give the money back.  Trodemus groaned, because he knew Belinda had spent the entire $1,000 well before he'd come back from his absence.  The paragraph offered one more way to correct things if the money was already gone.  It involved reciting another line about riches, while playing a game of "Pretzel..."
